John Deere 68 Lawn Tractor

Happy Friday folks,
I have a John Deere 68 lawn tractor (model A684G) who had destroyed its differential. The teeth are worn off the 4 gears inside the differential. The John Deere parts dealer in the Calgary, Alberta, Canada area tells me that the parts are no longer available. I am hoping someone has a better answer. I put a new engine in the little lawn tractor a few years ago and it is great little lawn tractor that mows really well and has a really small turn radius. I would hate to have to send it to the metal recycler.

u can replace the entire diff... with a used complete one.. I think the ones from a 70 or 72 will work.. I was able to get gears for my R-72 a few years ago..

I do know my axle shafts r 3/4 inch.. I may still have a set of gears here.. will check in the am..

I broke one gear in my tractor cause I was pullin a single axle trailer with over 3 ton on it.. at that time I bought 4 new gears.. cost me 120$$.. I also added a grease zerk to the case & filled it with JD's 'high stress' grease..
