I have just purchased a john Deere 4500 with a 460 loader and one of the rods that you pull to release the loader is completely missing anyone know where I might get this or if it's even needed. Other than the dealer

I have the loader on the tractor as it came with it. I need the rod and handle that releases. It's number 10 and the pieces with it.
You can get that only from the dealer or a tractor scrapyard...if the scrapyard happpened to have a damaged 460 loader...which is highly unlikely...:(

Get the part numbers from that drawing of the parts that you need and do a Google search on them. Different JD dealers give different discounts for different parts, so if you want to find them for the cheapest price you will need to search around. If you're ordering things on-line, don't forget to find out what the shipping costs are as some sites list prices that are way lower than others for the actual parts, but their shipping charges might be much higher and eat up the difference. Also, any dealer that has a location within your state is required to collect sales tax even if you place the order on the internet, while out-of-state dealers do not have to charge sales tax.
