I have a 1997 425 with the stock turf tires that I am looking to upgrade. Size is 23 x 10.50 x 12 . I have come across a set of carlisle all trail that are 25 x 10.50 x 12. The Carlisle all trail have a tread pattern that is more knobby but not so bad as to tear up my yard. I am hoping I can avoid tire chains most of the time when plowing the driveway.

I think the 25 tires will have no problem clearing but I am running a risk of damaging the drivetrain by changing the tire size?

I don't think that would be a problem. You will have to relevel your deck tho. :fing32:

I have been running the 25" all trails on my 425 for about a year now, big improvement over the turfs. If you search on my user name you'll find a few pictures of the tires on my 425.

I have TruPower 26x12x12's on the rear of my 425 and V61 18x8.50-8's on the front. No problem with the 54" deck, loader, etc.

Should work fine, unless yours is an all wheel steer model.

Thanks for the input. I found pics of dunkels and jwills setups and they look great! Now that I have seen some setups it has me wanting the v61's for the front as well. My 425 is not all wheel steer and has the original size rims. What do you guys think of the Carlisle all terrain 25x10.50-12 4 ply on back and the v61 18x8.5-8 4 ply on front? Looking for opinions on all around performance for plowing snow and mowing.
