Hey guys and gals...
I have an older JD 410...not sure of year yet. I have been doing some maintenance and have some questions.
1. Drained trans/hydro fluid, removed both filters and removed the small hose connecting the bottom of the trans to the pump...i think. Where is the "screen" that gets clogged that people talk about?
2. What is/are the pat numbers for the filters. I dotnt have a JD dealer within 2 hrs, so i plan.to go to NAPA.
3. What type of fluid and how much is needed. I read somewhere to use only JD fluid, but i dont know where i could get it, and also people said it takes 10 gal. I only drained about 4-5 gal...so either it was way low, or the other poster is wrong.

Thanks for any and all help anyone can give. Im pretty handy, but have.never owned or worked on such a large.machine.
Thanks
Chris

#18 is the screen. The other item is the filter relief valve. Remove the plug and the screen slides out. You mentioned removing a short hose. Depending on how your machine is equipped, there can be a hose connect to the plug/fitting and you need to remove the hose barb fitting to remove the screen.
