There is an oil pump,I doubt the engine is seized, you need to see if the engine will turn ove and you can do that by removing the left side cover and the air cleaner, after you rmove the ac you will see a hole in the flywheel cover, take a long screwdriver and stick in the hole and try turning the fly wheel? If it was running on a hill it might have just flooded the cylinders, remove the plugs and see it will crank over then. These motors are pretty simple so it could not be much.Man you guy's are FAST you got your reply while I was typing mine.Good Luck

If the CAGE moved it is turning over,DO you know how to check the plugs to see if they are fireing,if so do that and if there is fire check for fuel to the carb.I did not see if it is B43 or P218,we will need to know that next.Yours still has the screen over the flywheel so you get to the fins except through the hole i referred to in my first post.

It would not be model year, hasen"t been that many years since the first one, someone's wife OR husband must have given it as a 50 th wedding present? You will have to pull the complete breather off.

Why I asked about the engine is a p218g model bolts on the side of the engine frome the front ( mine did) and you cant go farther back with the starter.it must have been hitting the flywheels just enough when it was new to work foe a while.like pa318 said the fuel is simple.

Had to go back and see what model you have and you said 218 so there are no points so you need to take the top off the carb and clean it out good and remove the idle jet and make sure there is a hole ALL the way through the jet.replace the plug wires AND plugs, these motors start really good when all is well

You need to pull the motor!!!!!! First remove the driveshaft.4 bolts hold the motor down.pull the oil pan and you can remove the broken rod.The rods and pistons have to match( see post by glocem on 420) he had mid matched rods.you will need a hone for the bore.New rings from onan parts. The motor must have been broken for a while with the water in it.It could not have gotten water in it unless the breather was off and the hood was up.The water could have caused a hydrolic lock and broke the rod?

Oops I see you have engine out.I looked at your first post and that was probably when it broke the rod.

Was the rod still on the crank? post a picture of the rod inside where it attaches to the crank.Dont rule out rebuilding with new rings.Do the rods have the same number?do both your roda have a hole in the rod? the pistons have to match, the rings will have to be the same also.Rings are cheap, pistons are not too high.Like dkarst said you can scrape th aluminum off the crank but it will need to be plastic gaged to assure it still good.

Get some fedback from BOOMER, or OnanParts, they are the Onan gurus here.I know what I would do but i have lots of time and have more than 1 JD with Onan power.

I think the crank damage was old.The rods are designed to break at the hole saving the block from damage. If it needs bored larger pistons would be required BUT the bore will probably fine. The slope should not hurt the motor. The p218 will work.Same motor just different ignition

Well said Onanparts.I would not replace my Onan if I got a replacement free.I have time to work on them and the parts are NOT overpriced in my opoinion.
