John Deere 212/Snowblower mounting question

I have a John Deere 212 and I just recently purchased a Snowblower for it. I have had numerous issues getting it hooked up. First, I didn't have the lift linkage. Once I got that I was moving again. Then, my lift motor went out. I never did fix that because the cost is way to much. I'll just keep the snowblower in the down position.

Now I have it hooked onto the frame. Their appears to be one more piece missing and I don't know what it's called to look for the part. It's the pulley on the mower that the snowblower belt wraps around. The only pulley that is there is inside the engine (it's what the belt to the mower deck hooks onto). My dad said there is a spot for another pulley to hook onto. It has three holes were it can be mounted. Here is a picture of a pulley that looks like it would fit although I'm not sure it's the right one:

That isn't my listing. It's the only picture of a JD pulley I could find where the big inside hole and the three smaller holes look like it would match. Any ideas? Is this what I need? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've only installed my 37A blower on my 110H but I think the 200 series has a similar double drive pulley. The snow blower belt goes on the outer pulley and passes through the front of the right engine cover on a 200. Here is an ebay listing for same:

I'm also not sure how practical it is to use the snow blower without any lift capability. Any obstacle or driveway imperfection could cause you trouble.

This is the pulley you need. I have a friend here in Ontario who last week bought it from his local dealer. :D

I agree. Unfortunately a replacement lift motor or converting it to a manual lift will cost me $500+. I can't sink that much into it so I'm going to try to get some use out of it. I'm going to sell the tractor in the Spring. It works fine with the mower deck always down. I'll then sell the snowblower next fall.

First I had and electric lift that went out on my 212. For $30.00 and some effort I changed it over to manual lift. I bought a manual lift and left side pedestal from ebay and then removed the one for the electric lift and replaced it. It is a very tight fit under there and took me a whole weekend to get it replaced.

That's good to know. I'll keep an eye out. I have a local guy here that looked for the parts for me and said all his parts guys said that it would be a couple hundred dollars. Apparantly JD doesn't make some of them anymore. He mentioned having to change out the left side engine cover to fit the manual lift. Did you have to do that?

mattmumme, i have a left side pedestal for manual lift 200 series, you can have. I just traded my 212 in and I had installed hydraulic lift two years ago. Like I said you can have it, just reimburse me for postage and it's yours.-Keith

The guy I have work on my mower says that he thinks it needs a different left-side foot panel because the cutout for the manual lift is different from the electric lift. Does that make sense since you have done this before?

Nope, its the side panel of the dash tower, as Keith stated.

Mattmumme, what I have is part #13 in the picture below. You should be able to keep your rockshaft after you disconnect your electric lift. I'd be happy to give you my old handle also, but unfortunately it had to be cut (as most do) out of the hole in the rockshaft, and was destroyed in the process.

When I looked to replace the electric motor in mine they were still available but was $383.00 and that was several years ago!
