Does anyone know if there is any difference in a Power King vs. Jim Dandy Dual transmission. In other words, are they the same transmission? Could you put a Power King's second transmission into a Jim Dandy? A gentleman down the street I found out has a few old Power Kings that are just sitting around and wants to get rid of them. One is really bad off but has the dual transmission option and I thought about buying the tractor.

The trannies are identical. The tubes and shafts, however, are not. I believe the PK shafts and tubes are longer than the Jim Dandys. At least this was the case until the Jim Dandy became the 1612 and was built on the same frame as the PK. Those MAY be the same but I can't be 100% sure.

To be safe, I would suggest measuring the distance between the back surface of your tranny to the front surface of the rear end (your tube length) and compare it to the same distance on the tractor with the dual set up. If it matches, they should bolt up just fine. Get the couplers because they differ from the single to the dual set up.
