My JD2150 just started "surging" out of the blue. Runs fine, but about every 5 min or so, it will rev higher without any warning or change in throttle position. It has also become harder to start (after glow plug warmup, it would usually crank after about 1-2sec of turning over. Now it might have to turn over for 10-12 sec before starting). Changed fuel filter recently and it ran fine for about a month afterward. Have bled the fuel line as well. All of the throttle linkage seems ok. Any thoughts on what could cause this? Thanks in advance.

I had exactly that problem with my mower and it turned out to be the governor, so I suggest that you check that. And welcome to the forum! Also for more advice check the John Deer section of this forum.
