They must have checked with the JD dealers!
Yep, that would be my guess as well.
They caught up with dealer pricing.
Lowe's is a little better at $51.00 per weight with free pick-up at store. They also have Troy-built weights for $49.98. Glad I got my 6 at the good price.
I ordered two weights on friday and tonite two JD bumpers showed up in place of my suitcase weights. Each box was marked suitcase weight 42lb

What kind of bumpers? Are they at least worth more than the weights? :biglaugh:

About a year ago I told my dealer $1 per pound or no deal. They did it, but they weren't exactly happy about it. :D

The bumpers are worth about 20.00 more per bumper. I called home depot and ups is going to pick up the bumpers in the next few days and I will have to reorder my weights at the old price

Higher fuel prices = higher prices on everything, and less money to pay for it.:1336::banghead3
They were higher at the dealer when I bought some the other day. The prices have definitely gone up, but I have my 8 now.

I told the Parts Guy at my JD dealer about the $46 Home Depot weights. He verified it online and sold me a pair for $50 each. Well worth it, to me, to support the independent dealer.

Cheers,
Ed
I luckily purchased 4 of the black "Made in China" suitcase weights from Lowes for $46 ea. Part of the deal was the MTD rear weight bracket which fit my 318 with no mods.

I painted the weights JD green with yellow "Deere" logos. They look great. Now we need some snow!
I can't believe the price jumped up 26%! To be honest, I figured they would keep the price low to move the inventory out because I'm guessing they didn't sell a bunch of them like they had hoped due to the mild winter across the US. Anyway I am happy I got mine when they were still on sale.
Yikes!!!!!! Glad I got a set of 4 a year ago before the price went up.

They'll probably have a 20% off sale in a week or so.

Wow! I just got mine in December for 46 inc. delivery.
Everyone is talking weights, who is worried about weights? What about Fuel nomatter gas or deisel look at the increase in the cost since 2009. Fuel is going to be the driving vehicle to the increase in cost of every single thing we buy, from Tractors to parts to food. Fuel is the Big deal.
Next project, weight brackets to use bar bell weights. I checked Walmart, 25 lb'ers for less than $22. I'll paint them green.
Somebody has a used suitcase weight on ebay, for $40 starting bid and $16 shipping. Someone bid on it!!!!!! He also has the rear click and go brackets with a weight bracket which is a good deal at the starting bid of $100. Do a search for x575 and it will come up. If you can't find it, let me know and I will post the link.

Here is the weight link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/JOHN-DEERE-...469?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item256ce97e2d
