I need help trouble shooting my LA 135. My tractor has begun to sputter and then it quits. This happens both while mowing the lawn or just driving it. This does not always happen every time I bring it out so it is hard to trouble shoot. It starts again immediatly after it quits.

1. I have changed the fuel filter
2. I have double checked all connections and see nothing that is loose.
3. I thought the seat switch but have no idea how to bypass to check.


What about a coil?

Please let me if anyone has any ideas.

Did you try to unscrew the gas cap when he start to sputter.?

When I first got my 135 I had problems with it cutting out and someone advised me about the seat "safety" switch, on slight hills I would shift my center of gravity and engage the shutoff....I've have'nt had a problem once I learned to keep my butt in the seat....

I have not tried to loosen the cap because it happens so fast.

this has always occuered on flat land.

We have over 125 hours on tractor.

Could be a little drop of water floating around inside the carb float bowl. I've seen that cause some really weird erratic running problems.
