JD H120 Front End Loader Dolly

While I was at it cobbling together the dolly for the 260 backhoe today, I decided to continue on and cobble together one for the FEL also.

Materials used:
2 - 2"x6"x8'
1 - 2"x4" stud
1 - 12" x 18" harbor freight 1000# furniture dolly
4 - 3" 250# rated swivel casters.

You don't see it in the picture but I am going to add pieces of 2x4 on both sides and along the back to keep the bucket centered.

I did have to notch the tail end of the 2x6 that holds the furniture dolly as the bottom of the bucket dolly was not quite tall enough to allow the 2x6 to rest flat on the furniture dolly.

Looks Good!
Nice job, I have used 3 of the small dollys in the past, but I think your on a role hear and I'm curious to see what you come up with for your tractor:ROF

just busten on ya, what are you going to do with the deck way out there in the yard?
Ha!! Good one! Fortunately the tractor is already on wheels so it rolls around just fine. LOL!!

The deck is easy enough to take on/off that the only thing I'm gonna do is make a set of the storage wheels (good thread in the JD garden tractor forum) to store it in the off season.

Like I said in the backhoe dolly thread, I'm just tired of coupling/uncoupling the loader and hoe when I have to mow. The dollies will let me hook up when I need them and keep them indoors and outta the way when I don't.

Do you dismount/mount the loader on the ground and then somehow lift it to the dolly or can you dismount/mount the loader with it on top of the dolly? I'm not sure how the height difference between the tractor tires resting on the ground and the loader resting on the dolly would affect the mount/dismount process.

Looks to me your rear support is to far forward and you won't be able to get your one hose on because it has pressure on it.

That's the same posture mine is in when I store it flat on the ground. Works just fine, no problems reconnecting the hydraulics. As soon as I get the arms high enough to clear the cups they sit in, I quit raising it and just leave it that way.

Ok I guess I will have to try again. I had no luck that way
I don't have a pic handy, but for my 40 FEL, I just used a pallet jack I had in the garage. They're cheap and you can use them for other things too. Always good to come up with a fresh design though.

I wound up not being able to dismount directly onto the dolly. I thought it would work but the stand wouldn't go low enough to let it come off, I think. I can't remember exactly but I do remember I couldn't dismount out on the dolly.

I ditched this shortly after I installed the single point on my tractor. My primary purpose for the dolly was so I didn't have to reconnect the loader every time I mowed. Using the single point it is so much less hassle to connect and disconnect the loader so I don't care about disconnecting/connecting every time I mow.

This is another member's install. Mine is similar but I used a different single point kit that was purchased used on an auction site. I did a few things different from him but not much.
