Jd 5220 stuck in gear gear

Hey there I have a jd 5220 with a power-reverser and I had picked a hay bale and took off and went to shift into 2nd gear and it is now stuck in 1st gear has anyone ever ran into this and is it a quick fix or am I going to be digging in deep on this one
