Hi gang,
I put this in the attachments forum, but I'm thinking it would be better placed here. Let me know if I'm wrong.
I recently picked up this JD 400 Front PTO T543E, along with some other 400 attachments. I can't find any info for this at all. Did JD put out any type of manual or literature for this or even the rear PTO for that matter? Do any of you know what these cost new or what they are worth? It is in excellent working condition. I'm not looking to get rid of it as of yet, but I would like to have some idea of the value of it. Any info or links would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Sergeant,

Thanks for the '75 JD 400 Tractor new price.
Where did you find the price for the '75 400 Tractor?
Did you purchase one in '75 or did you see that written somewhere?

Thanks for the link. I have viewed the 400 info there and they don't have the 543 front PTO shown there either.

I am really looking for more info and a value on the 543 PTO.

Thanks Again,
Preston

Grounds Maintenance Equipment Blue Book Is where I got the info on price for a 1975 400. Well the Front 540 RPM PTO attachment you have is pretty rare You could probably Get $500 + on ebay for it. Deere made that PTO attachment for Both the the 300 & 400 series from 1975 until 1992.
Your 400 series tractors MSRP:
1976 400 $3,795 + 60inch deck $575
1982 400 $5,799 + 60inch deck $999
Attachment prices at MSRP:
#50 Snowthrower $750
#56 Front Blade $360
#35 Tiller $1,025
540 RPM Front PTO attachment at MSRP $325 By Blue Book it is Not worth more than $40.00 But as I said by ebay you could probably Get $500 + for it.
I have a 1975 & 1981 Matched Working equipment Catalog and when I get a change I will scan it and send you a copy. :thThumbsU

Sergeant.........Awesome info! I really appreciate the time you took to post. Grandpa originally purchased my 400 in 1981 and I was thinking he had around $7,000 in it tractor, deck, wheel weights.
If you get a chance that would be Great.
Thanks Again,
Preston
