JD 318 Maintaince and Service Advise
I have an old 318 that just keeps going. I've had it for 5 years now and haven't really adequately serviced it. Other than changing oil and filters, lubing grease fitting, sharpening the blades and blowing grass and dirt out from engine bay and down under with a leaf blower.
I have no idea when the tranny has been serviced and it sprung a leak via the view glass tube cracking. Much to my surprise, it had red ATF I guess even though the sight glass showed clear fluid and I've only "topped" if off with hyguard low vis (only a couple ounces a few years back).
Anyhow, I want to perform a more comprehensive serve after reading how good the 318 is. A while back somewhere on this site, I read a really comprehensive 318 service checklist. So I printed it off to use as a guideline and now I can't find it.
I've tried the search function to no avail, there are just a ton of 318 threads. I want to say it listed 25 or 30 things and took 6 or 8 pages to print.
Looking for some guidance from the knowledge bank here.
