JD 318 Front V61's Tubes or No Tubes?

Ok guys, I dropped off my front V61's 16x6.5x8 and my HDAP's 23x10.5x12 tires at my local JD dealer on Monday and picked them up last night. I also had tubes for the front tires which I told them to install. I get there last night, and they didn't install the tubes because they front tires never need tubes and JD has never told them otherwise. They were also concerned about pinching the tubes and tearing them. Also, they said 6ply front tires certainly never need tubes. They were very nice and told me why, but I felt stuck and took the tires home and mounted them on my tractor because I needed them now.

So here is the question. Tires Unlimited, Miller Tire, and about 50% of the posts on tractor forums say that you need tubes, but Vinnie from NY and I believe Vredstine says that you don't need tubes, and of course the other 50% of the posts on tractor forums say that you don't need them. My question is, do I need them to go ahead and have them install the tubes, or am I good to go without the tubes?

As long as they hold air I wouldn't worry about it.
Why would you need or want tubes? They are the biggest pain in the butt. Its real easy to puncture a tube with a tire iron while mounting the tire. Just wait until you get a flat. You can't just plug the tire and go. You have to dismount the whole tire just to get to the tube.
You didn't mention if you had planned to fill the front tires?? Unless you are--I'd say no need for tubes in the front.Anytime I fill a tire--I put a tube in it.Course, that's just me.
I have no intention of filling my front tires nor my rear tires. I have been told there is never a need for tubes in tractor tires, unless you have the intention of filling them with fluid. Is this a true statement?

Where on the Vredestine website does it say that the 16" V61's have to have tubes in them and the 18" do not?

I guess I should just run them without tubes, until I have a problem like a flat, or a broke bead, then consider having the tubes installed?
From a lot of research and responses, the 16" V61's should get the tubes because it is hard to get a good seal for wheel bead on the tire. However, the 18" V61's don't need the tubes because they mount better....

I guess if my tires start leaking, then I will take them back and have them install the tubes. Now that I have mounted my suitcase weights, it will surely test the seal on my 16" front tires.
I tubed my Firestone tri-ribs because I had a hard time keeping the bead sealed at low pressure. They truly need a bit narrower rim than the stock 5.5". My rears I tubed because I planned to fill them.

I'd also tube if I was going to use slime as a flat preventive.

I'm curious why you would need to run low pressure in the front tire? I have never had an issue with bead seal on any of my machines, and I think I run them low on pressure; but I also use correct size tires on them. I can understand your situation with the skinny fronts, but why the low air pressure?
Well, what types of pressures are we talking about then?
12 PSI. I could run them up to 28, but they cut turf if I do.
Even though the tri-ribs are sized at 16x6.50-8, the 5.5" wide rim is too wide.
I guess I better check the tire pressures tonight in both the front/rear tires to see what the dealer set them at..... As I noticed the right front tire appears different than the left one in how it sits/squats.
I have tubes in my 18" V61s and my rears, but then again that is because I am going to fill them all eventually. :thThumbsU

High or low pressure mine cut into the turf on tight turns. I had to have the tires taken off my rims and the little tits cut off and then sealed. slkpk
