I recently acquired a JD 2550 utility tractor with the slide out lift arms. The operators manual states to only use them on cat 2 equipment. Since the sway blocks can be turned to accommodate cat 1 or cat 2, why would you not use them on cat 1 equipment?

I have a 2030 with the telescoping lower 3pt arms. My owners manual only states to use bushing in the pin holes and adjust the sway blocks for CAT 1 implements.

I see no reason not to use CAT 1 implements on your tractor (other than they might not be rated for your HP/tractor size)

Welcome to MTF
I can't envision why the extendable draft links couldn't be utilized with Cat l implements similar to Cat ll implements. As one extends the draft links the distance between between the balls in the ends of arms widens & IMHO would widen more on Cat ll than Cat l per inch arms are.extended.
