Your serial number is not the tractor's number, maybe the engine #? Your tractor was made around the mid- 1980's.

my lady friends dad has this iohn deere 165 hydro lawn tractor bought it new but can.t remember the year 11 hp kawasaki runs n looks great was wandering the year have a serial #fb460-0308-48 any help would b appreciated thanx wayne http://i443.photobucket.com/albums/qq160/dexterforkz/DSCN0375-2.jpg

The serial number should be on the dash pedestal usually near the key and should be something like M00165 somethig something
Tractor looks great! With the little "helper" you have, PLEASE take the keys out of the ignition when not in use. You would be AMAZED how early kids figure out how a key works.
