On my 1885 vintage 111, the exhaust piping and muffler are pretty well rusted out.

I know that exhaust manifold bolts are prone to snapping and want to try to prevent that problem.

I've got high quality penetrating oil.

Any tips or cautions to help with a successful outcome would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Go through cycles of heat and cooling down while using the penetrating I'll. Tap on the heads lightly with a hammer to jar the bolt. Once it breaks loose,go slowly and continue using the penetrating fluid and run the bolt back and forth a few threads at a time, bringing it out a little further each time. Patience is key. Don't get in a hurry.
