the blades will not engage. But if I push in on the pto they will engage, is there a bolt that go's thru the pto pulley's that might have vibrated out?

Sounds like a bad switch...

Might just be an adjustment to tighten the arm up against the PTO more to engage.
Under the battery pan(SF 110s)is link pin with nut that can be tighten or loosened.

Yes how old is the JD in question? My Scott's PTO would disengauge while cutting. I thought there would be an adjustment to correct this, I was wrong. When I pulled the deck off I found the tennisioning pulley bracket to be almost rusted away from the deck. Got some sheet metal, pulled the wielder out and went to work. Add some paint, new blades,and belts- never cut better. My Scott's sat outside for 10 years all summer long... but not the new Cub Cadet !!
