Jacobsen push mower value

I found this in someone's trash. I got it running. Just took some sandpaper to the flywheel magnets, coil, and points. Started right up 2nd pull after that. I also took the rust off the handle with my die grinder, cleaned the air filter, changed the oil, and sharpened the blade. I am guessing by the Briggs model number it is a 1972. I haven't decided if I want to sell it or keep it. What would someone pay for this? Do people collect Jacobsen mowers? This thing is pretty neat.

I like the old Jakies. The Briggs engines are great. But I would only consider buying a 2-cycle commercial Jake. Just a personal preference. Lots of people love the Briggs.
I love the Briggs powered Jacobsen/Homelite Super Bagger models.
Is there supposed to be something on the discharge deal where there isn't any paint? And why did Jacobsen manufactor the deck with the slots in it?
I would guess that there was at one time a discharge deflector on there.
Yeah there probably was and the Jakes had a big one. The one on my comm is huge and made of fairly heavy steel. The vents are curious though, around the deck there...
Other mowers are vented as well, just not obvious like that. That's where your discharge air comes from. Interesting design and cool mower.
Anybody recognize this one? It has four small blades on the underside...

Yep! I have heard that they were some of the best built. They took forever to get up to full speed and to shut off becuase of the four blades. The ones with the disc blades were the same way.
Mine has the 4 blades. Doesnt take too long to get it going. Getting it stopped takes a little while. Cool Jacobson.
Can someone post a pic of theis 4 blade setup?
I was just given one of these Jacobsen's today. 3.0HP and it runs-was my uncles for the past 30+ years or so. What do you guys think this will go for on Ebay if it is clean and 4 blades etc?
I love the Briggs powered Jacobsen/Homelite Super Bagger models.
When I was a little kid someone whose grass I cut weekly gave me A supper bagger. I used it for years untill I passed it along to someone else. It was just like this one.
