JA62 John Deere Why?

I can't say I'm very impressed with them either. To me, it sure looks B&S took a side valve block and slapped an OHV head on it.

And I must say, I'm rather disapointed that JD in the last decade or so has done nothing but paint someone else's walk behind mowers green and call them John Deeres....... good thing it looks like my JD will last for another twenty years or so cause they haven't sold anything I'd be interested in for quite a while.

I have to respectively disagree with you. I bought my JA62 in Early 2000. I used it commercially for 2 years then it's been my regular mower since. I have never put a dime onto it. I have done regular maintenance on it and stored it inside in the wintertime. But I do agree on the general decline in quality. That being said, I am restoring a 14SB from the ground up and hope it will be my main mower for the next 20 years

i solved the prob by putting a kawi on my 62. great mower now. its like a 2 speed 14sb mow. i dont like the intec either

No that's a solution for a great deck with a bad motor. Make it what you want!
