Sorry, no question, the site requires that I post something in the introduction forum prior to posting anywhere else. Once I checked that box, I posted the question in the appropriate section (John Deere lawn tractor section).
LX255 quit running yesterday while I was mowing. It just died like it ran out of gas. Air filter was clean, it was getting good spark, and was getting fuel. I tried maybe a dozen times to get it started but it wouldn't budge. It would turn over forever, then I'd smell that it flooded. I came home from work the next day and went to push it off the lawn, but figured I'd try one more time to start it. It jumped right to life and I was able to finish mowing.
