I had to change the starter ring on Mutt, problem... no fuel for my torch and since the neighbor who has a torch was not home :thSick: and SWMBO said no way was I going to use HER oven to heat the ring. SO what's a guy to do... IDEA! Break out the camping stove. Fresh tank of fuel on the stove and a propane torch I balanced the ring over the burners and used the torch to keep the hanging off part heated. After about 20 minutes heating and turning time it slipped right on just like it was suppose to :thThumbsU.

One of these days I have GOT to get some oxygen for my torch but I just hate to get a contract with the supplier for something I only need refilled every 3-5 years.

I hadn't really thought about it... but... my gas grill gets up to about 450°... I guess that'd probably be hot enough.

When I had my N block in the shop (had a crack to get brazed, had it magnafluxed and went ahead and had them put the kit in) they put a new ring gear on it, then. Saved me the trouble.
