I have a 2009 , 4520 model JD. I can leave it in any range and the park brake off and just get out. As long as i dont touch the forward or reverse pedal.

I have to ask this also......

I hear of guys running a 48" inch bush hog on a 2305 but when guys ask about bush hogs for their 60 hp units a lot of yall say stay under 72" Can you explain? :thanku:

Happy mowing..:greendr: :thThumbsU

Well Tg cant help much on the safety features thing, what happens if you touch the f or r pedal? Sounds like what a well designed machine should do,, them seat switches on their own sound like a pain in the rear honestly and JD was on the stick if it only shuts the machine down if you are out of the seat AND try to move the machine,,, heck I might even leave something like that hooked up, sounds like an excellent idea.

The brush hog,,,, well I kinda think it's one of those your milage may vary type a things,,, I have used a 72" on my 5020 and it played with it in heavy weeds, but my heavy weeds may not be as heavy as your heavy weeds and I may think 4mph is flyin while you consider it crawlin. The only issue I had with a 72" cutter was the weight of the thing and the leverage it exerted on the tractor, I could lift the cutter and then the cutter would lift the front end, nothing some weights couldnt solve. 72" cutter on your machine,, unless it would be for maneuverability/gate issues I think would be a waste,,a 96 or 120,, now we're talkin.
I pull an 8' woods with my 806. It plays with it.Of course, it's an international.:thThumbsU :sidelaugh :sidelaugh

I had a 50hp massey years ago and the dealer talked me into a 60inch when I Wanted a 72inch. I was real sorry I listened to him. if your into something long and it's to much for the tractor you can always take less than a full swat. But for all other times you have the extra foot or two.
TG,

That's how my 755 was; you just jumped off the tractor and never had to set the parking brake. It was quite convenient! :)
You want Lawnboys TG? You just tell me where and when, I got you covered:trink40: :ROF
I don't see why a 10 foot pull behind wouldn't work on your tractor. I've always been told 5 hp per foot. and the pull behind means you won't have that weight hangin off the back
Thanks for your input fellas..
If your tractor is a 60hp model, It'll pull anything you want! A 15 foot bat wing will give it a good test, even in 6" grass, but the rest, Use any you want. You might just have to drop a gear or two for the wider mowers. That you have to determine on your own. I too like a pull behind on an 8 foot or more in width, with wide stance rear wheels. PJ
