While at the swap meet in Point Pleasant, WV, Richard of Richard's Lawn and Garden told me that Antram's has closed up shop. Needless to say, I as taken aback a bit.

Does any one know or can someone verify that they are or are not still open?

Well I just tried their # and got an answering machine - that asks the caller to leave detailed information about what part(s) their looking for and someone will get back with them as soon as possible. The message is older as it reference the early Sept. meet. So I don't know.............

.....And this is a reason why Richards has so much business!
That's just one reason. He is just plain good, easy to deal with, very personable, and responds like he says he will.

Totally agree. Every dealing I've had with Richard or his guys has been straightforward and easy. He gives you the straight story, and charges a fair price for what he sells. Too few vendors these days operate that way.

Same here. Everything I've ordered has been fairly priced.
The front axle pto assy. and blower mounting plates I recently ordered were dilivered in two days. I was surprised when they arrived.

Glad to see so many of you agree that Richard is one of, if not the best. An example of being a fair person:

While I was at the Point Pleasant swap meet, I stopped to see him and decided to go ahead and pick up a large plug for my 6.6 and two plug wires. The total came to $24. I open my wallet and see a 20, a 10, and three ones. I ask him if he could break the ten without putting him in a tight spot for change. He glanced down, saw the three ones and said that $23 is fine and I pick him up a hot dog later. :biglaugh:

How many dealers would do that??? I know it was just a dollar, but we all say it, that every one of them makes a difference. That will always stick with me. Is it silly? Sure it is, but it showed me first hand that he truely loves these tractors and being in business for them is not just a living, but a passion, and it lets him continue to live and work with these machines on a daily basis.

Don, do you know if Richard has anyone that is going to step in and continue the business? I hope so. It would be a shame to lose him.

Maybe he'll bring some stuff closer to me!! Know he mentioned he would be able to bring items that were a bit big to ship at one point if I ever needed them.

When I was at Richards booth at Pt. Pleasant, I heard a young man, who I assumed was Richard's son, talking to a young lady there that he was excited about eventually taking over the business. The young lady he was talking to also was working the booth. It may be like my business. I started it in more than 35 years ago and about 5 years ago, my son took over as the day to day operations of the business but I still come to work most everyday and try not get in the way. That may be what Richards going to do.

I hope you're right. The two younger people must have been out and about socailizing when I stopped by. Poor Richard was being pulled in about six different directions at once, but he was keeping up. :fing32:
