We live in Kansas and have a John Deere mid size tractor and a Ford GT65. We use the GT65 to mow our yard and the John Deere to mow our horse pastures.

We are having problems with our GT65 breaking belts. We have taken it three times to the repairman and it broke this time after only two hours of use. Belt looks chewed. My husband has the mower taken apart to check for sharp parts on the spindles but has not found any. Does anyone have an idea as to why these belts are getting chewed. They cost about $60. It is the main belt. Only mowing a yard that is mowed often so high grass is not the problem. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum !

If he does not find sharp edges anywhere, I would look for a mis-alignment between pulleys. It would have to be pretty severe to chew up a belt.

Is the deck constantly running when you mow or does he have to constantly engage and dis-engage the deck? (such as when you have a bagger on it).
