mowing on saturday when moow just stopped thought i had something in blades but when i checked all was clear. went to start again and could hear starter motor engage but wouldn't start. checked to see if i could turn the pulley on vee belt drive and would not budge. ithink it must have siezed the motor oil was ok always check fluids before mowing but would appreciate any other checks before starting to pull it down. cheers steve

IMHO I doubt the engine seized ?? That is a Liquid cooled Kawasaki, with overheat warning and low oil warning. I'm guessing the PTO ? Get it to a dealer and find out.

Welcome to the forum Steve! Sounds like you didn't hit anything, and if you are turning over the starter and the engine is turning over then doesn't sound like it siezed. I agree with BobforApples, did it dies suddenly (like it hit something) or slowly like it ran out of fuel? Wondering if maybe a fuel pump died! I'm not that familiar with your model so hopefully someone will be along that has more experience with the LX279.

There are a million things Did you disengage the PTO before trying to restart ?, is there anything wrapped around the spindles or ( blades). Did you have the cruise on when it happened ?.............

Hi, & Thanks everyone for the welcome!
Can you tell me if there is somewhere else I should be posting this question (A different section maybe?) ,as I haven't yet had a response. (I'm not too good on these things!)
Many thanks

Thanks
Theres no PTO on it. It stopped suddenly,& I didn't have the cruise on. I've checked the blades etc, & have started pulling down mower. The drive pulley won't move & am still working my way through it. The motor is not kicking over at all.
Any other suggestions?
Will keep u updated on what i find.
Cheers Steve

:MTF_wel2:, jewells!

If you're running a mower, there is a PTO involved, probably an electric clutch.

Isolate the problem.

Take all the belts/shafts off the engine and retry starting it.

If the engine still won't turn over with the starter, try turning it by hand with a bar.

If it won't turn by hand, mechanical damage in the engine is indicated.

If it does turn by hand, check the starter.

If it does turn over with the starter, the problem is at the other end of the belts/shafts.
