I was looking through some of my old manuals and broshure's and came across the prices for what these tractors were retailed for back in 1969 ..........

(prices for tractors were the cost of just the tractor not any attachments)

Husky 770 sold for $640.00
Husky 775 sold for $750.00
Husky 850 sold for $820.00
Husky 1050 sold for $920.00
Husky1220 sold for $970.00
Husky 1225 sold for $1150.00
Husky 1250 sold for $1295.00- also came with tire chains
Husky 1455 sold for $1495.00

I also found some prices for some attachments in 1969....

Bolens pull behind cart $73.00

42in. snow/Grader blade $67.00

42in Mower deck $170.00

unfortunately I couldn't find a price for the tillers.

If you think about it these were pretty expensive tractors back in 69'. mabye this was why these fine tractors were bought out and made cheaper by brands like MTD. most people would rather buy a cheap tractor and replace it in a few years rather than buy one for more $.
Its nice to see that these fine machines are still running and being restored by bolens fanatics like my self . Lets go BOLENS ! and lets keep these tractors running for years to come.:thThumbsU

Given the rate of inflation, that means that not only were these beasts very pricey in their day, but also that the current crop of $1500 stamped metal and plastic "lawn tractors" you find at the big box stores would have been only about $250 at the same time.

My 1886-05 was bought end of season (Sept) 72 for $2666 with high floatation tires and a 54" deck. My Ingersoll 444 with ag tires and 44" deck was something over $4200 in 1989. Ingersoll's would have been Case's late 60's early 70's.

How much do you think a HT23 with power steering, transmission cooler, and cruise control with a 54" mower deck go for? And the tractor is a S model (2389S), and was sold new in March, 1986. I am just curious, I estimated in to be $4500, knowing that a late model HT20 with manual steering went for $3500ish.

It's always interesting to look back in time to see a quality product's selling price. I have some 100 year old fans. In the early 1900s they sold for $30 to $40, equating to about $800 today. One thing I like to do is go one step further, check to see the average wage for the time as well, usually gives even more perspective.

In '69 the average wage was about $5800 a year. Today the average wage is about $43k, what's the cost of a comparable quality GT?

I know what a H1502 is, my friend had one then upgraded up to a 17HP one. The exactly what I thought the price range was, seeing my HT23 had all the bells and whistles available at the time.
