Other than rear tire size, what are the differences in the Ingersoll 226 and 446? Is the frame the same size? The rear gear ratio the same? Any help will be appreciated.
If you are comparing a 226 & 446 in the same model year range then 3 things come to mind. The front axle, hydraulic drive motor, and rear axles are different.
The 226's are also mostly a 2" shorter wheel base ... earlier 446's also had the short wheel base. Rear end fenders are also different for the shorter tires.
In short ... there are many detailed differences to accomodate the lower chassis and small wheels on the 226 ... but every bit the same rugged garden tractor.
