What resources do you use if you'd like to have a Bolens with a FEL?

Craigslist and eBay? Or do you contact known MTF members that always seem to have stuff?

It can be really frustrating using CL and eBay...

I'd like almost any Bolens with a FEL. There's a 1050 on eBay right now that is gonna go for probably $1800ish. I don't even know if that's a good deal, but it looks good in the pics and is only 2 hours from my house... I'm probably gonna pass on it, since I haven't looked in person.

So....how hard is it to find one when you want one?

Are there some models that have them on, but really don't work well with them?

Is a guy better off just finding a loader separate...or it that really hard to put together a good deal that will work/fit? I am handy.

I'm not in a hurry...so time is on my side. But I don't want to work that hard at looking...should I expect to?

Hi, some folks use ebay. I use Craigslist and anyone that I may run into that 'hears' of bolens stuff lying around. When I did my tube frame loader I bought a 1050 that had a loader on it. I took the loader off, sold the 1050 and restored the loader and 1556 and put them together. I would have no problem buying just the loader or the package deal if the price was right. You just need to use whatever resources are best for you. I hope this helps.

I would also like to add that in most cases a hydro is far better for loader work that a gear jamer. With a gear shift most users will allow the clutch to be slipped. Not a good idea
