Info on '74 Comet brakes

Currently, I'm trying to find info on the braking system. The braking cable terminates with a spring that isn't attached to anything. If anyone has or could point me in the direction of obtaining photos of the braking assembly, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

There should be a cable from that spring to the band around the brake drum. A coiled spring (part # 7011855) with the cable running through it so that when you apply the brakes the band closes around the brake drum.
The manuals for the Comets, leave a lot to the imagination.Maybe some of you Comet owners could post some photos for information?

That would be wonderful!!
Is there anyone out there who could stand their mower up on end and take a few pics of their brake assembly for me. I have the exploded assembly diagram from a parts website but it's a bit difficult to read. A few pics would help immensely.
Right now they're hibernating, but give me some time and I will help you with some pics. I had the same problem and used a cable (throttle) from a discarded push mower to make the connection.
Here you go
Hope these help

The Snappers RER are photogenic, this one has been on before.
'Greyhound' is looking for Comet which I think are Series 0.
The pics are of Series 5, but they are so similar that I hope these help him.
Thanks Cal
