I get the feeling that most people on this site believe wheelhorse parts are better than any other.

Had problem with idler wheel for the flat side not retaining the belt on my raider 10 mowing deck. Got an idler wheel at local hardware with higher sides that solved my problem.

Thinking outside the box can be rewarding.

It probably didn't "solve" your problem, but merely covered it up. I'd bet that the tensioner shaft and/or bushings are worn out, allowing the tensioner to not run parallel.

The belt would not stay on before it does now it may last for another 35 years. My problems is solved I will not last for 35 years. If I do I doubt I will be mowing my lawn at 110 years old.
