Hi! I kind of like the concept, sort of like a Kelly Blue Book for mowers. Only problem I could see would be who would determine the values as everyone has their own opinion as to a mowers value. As a Lawnboy guy I kind of have an idea of the value of my mowers both as a collectible and the value to me personally, but I would have no idea of the value of other brands of mowers and could therefore not offer my opinion on other brands. Also you can tell by sites such as eBay that many sellers think their items are worth their weight in gold by what they are asking for them even though the fair market value is much different. Don't give up on the idea, however, as I think it would be a great reference point to start when shopping for a used mower or selling one. I had posted recently myself asking the members for their opinion regarding the value of a 5273 Lawnboy I was thinking of selling and it was helpful to know how much they thought I could sell it for. Thanks and keep those great ideas coming. Bill

the problem with a sticky is that it would go to multiple pages and then where would you find your answer? if the WB forum has enough posts just asking what a machine is worth, then maybe Brad or one of the admins cuold get a what's it worth subforum for you guys.
maybe but I was hoping to just have a general thread that after finished would be locked like MY_CRIB_TOO's commercial sticky but like the Kelly book for LB's

Just an idea.

the question then becomes, what is it worth in area X vs area Y? as with anything their value is relative to the demand in the area.

Brad will see this afterwhile and should comment as to whether it is a workable idea or not. I was simply pointing out that a dedicated WIW forum for WB may be a better solution than a sticky that could become overly long quickly.

Hi everyone! I know this is not in the lawn and garden field but I just had to post this link in reference to this post as to the value of something. I know there was a discussion on another thread regarding the price of a Lawnboy deck that was used so I suppose the value is in what a person is willing to pay. Hope you all enjoy the link and can kind of laugh at this. Bill

If this is deemed inappropriate please feel free to delete the post. Just thought everyone would get a kick out of the pricing on this compared to a mower. Enjoy!! Bill

It sounds like an idea to contemplate, but think about how the values raise and fall depending on what part of the country you may be in, the time of the year, the condition (your idea of Showroom might be a bit different than my idea of Showroom). I would have no problem if someone wanted to start a thread of this nature and if it really took off, maybe we could put it in Walkbehind sub forum.
