So I have a 2 acre lot. Right now I mow with a mower that was given to me craftsman 3000 nothing bad about runs and it's better than walking.

So I grew up my father had the. 318 really amazing machine and I have wanted one now that I have the financial means to get it I want one.

Looking at 2 units

One unit is 87 with 689 hours on it comes with 50 inch deck and power vac
And tow behind trailer

Think I can get for 2 k also just had tune up doesn't smoke ect overall a clean machine.

Other machine is a 317 no hour meter comes with mowing deck 48 inch. 48 Plow and tiller 33 inch 1500
Machine needs a good clean and paint maybe but i feel attachments are with it

Is it worth buying this either lawn mower? If so what one ?

Am I making a stupid decision as I have a brand new mower?

I am not keeping both mowers so the craftsman will be sold if I get either ?

Help is appreciated for a new guy.

What Motor is in the 317? Will make a difference. Most hour meters for 317's were added on and the decks were usually 46" unless it was changed.

Owning a 317 myself, if it comes with all the attachments I would get it. Just make sure it has all the PTO and lift linkage all there for the Tiller.:fing32:

I would be different, and go with the 318.I have had both and preferred the 318 , before I moved up to the diesel 332s.

Not that you will ever get rid of it, but, the 318 will always have more resale value!!

Well I did buy the 318

According to the serial number it's a 1991

Has 645 hours in good shape going to reprint it in the fall engine runs great
