Maybe just a good bath and maintenance would do it. How does it run? Looks complete, make a nice machine when it's rehabbed. Good luck
:ditto: They seem to bring home friends and relatives. Since you have the 165 you probably know about the starter relay. What year is the 180? I don't recall seeing a 3-spoke steering wheel before; all of mine are two spokes. Also curious to know if it has the 20" rear tires that go with the 46" deck. Congrats on the new "tool" :fing32:Thats how it happens. You start out with one and then two. Then you start looking and the next thing you know three and four and looking for more.Welcome to the club im a tractor:drunkie:holic to.
I'll let you know on the year and tires...its so fresh all i had time to do was get pics. Apparently the guy i got it from got it at an auction...engine apparently runs (but didn't yesterday so 1/2 the price) and reverse doesn't work...so i have some work to do....but i'm confident i can have it looking like it's 165 buddy in the background soon. :thThumbsU:ditto: They seem to bring home friends and relatives. I had the same problem pulling the trans from a 111 I scrapped. Heating the U-bolt up with the torch and then tapping it with a hammer did the trick for me.Thanks!
I started ripping into it last night and have come across a problem. The u bolts that hold the transaxle to the frame are rusted right into the transaxle. Nothing I can do can pursuade the trans to drop. I don't want to break the casting of the transaxle. Anyone have any ideas. I've let it soak in pentrating fluid... My though was to cut off the top of the U and then clean it out when I have the transaxle on the floor....are these U parts still available? Should I try heat first?
Thanks everyone!
