I should not have stopped and looked at it!

We were in Charlotte yesterday and drove by City Chrevrolet and there it sat,
a new yellow Camaro just like Bumblebee in the Transformers movie. The
car definitely looks better in person than on TV or in magazines. They
were charging a $5K market upcharge just because they had several. My
wife wants one bad, she's always wanted one even way back when the first
one's came out. I told her if we get one we're going for the works, SS, V8,
and all.

Don't go look at, stay away from it! I didn't think much of it until I saw one
sat in it.
So when can we expect to see a photo of it in your driveway ?? :thThumbsU

I have no idea. I was kind of surprised at her interest in it.

BTW: I didn't take the picture, I found it on the net.
That is one beautiful car.
The Black Hood and Hockey Stripe Package (Dealer Installed Option(4)) $510 List...
I think they blew the retro look and copied to much of a Dodge Challanger look. jmo
I saw a beautiful red one last month at a NJ dealership. It was sitting in the service area and was roped off so you couldn't get close enough to see the interior. Must have just come in for a waiting customer. I believe they start pricing at around $25k. :smilie_fl
Those LS engines respond really well to cam swaps. You could probably get another 100 HP out of it with a cam and computer tune. Even small things like a cold air intake, and exhaust wake these motors up.

I'd like one myself, but I'm 6'2, and feel cramped enough in my 87 SS Monte Carlo.
GM Dealers just don't get it

They're charging you over market to buy from a bankrupt manufacturer? Well PT Barnum said it best. Wonder if the overpayment contributes to Wagoner's retirement fund of $20,000,000.

My thoughts exactly, except that they're up charging because they have several? Maybe you upcharge because you have the only one in 5 states, not because you have several. You have to love the testicular fortitude of the average American car dealer.

Or the stupidity of the average car buyer. Emotions should have nothing to do with it, but the dealers(Stealers) make sure it does.

I looked 1 over pretty close at a local dealer. I've had several pre-1972 camaro's, I really loved them. The new 1 I looked at was a piece of crap. The nose looks almost too short, the rear is too high, there was nothing very "camaro" about it. There were so many camaro details they could have reproduced like the steering wheel look or the tail lights or the rear window but in all, I was sadly disappointed.
It reminded me of Ford selling us the 75 Mustang & hoping we wouldn't notice it was really a Pinto underneath.

With as much weight as those fat pigs have to lug around, they'll need heads/cam swaps to do anything impressive in a straight line. As for corners, forget it.

Those fat pigs weigh 3900 lbs. A Shelby GT500 weighs 3900 lbs, had a claimed 540 hp, and can't seem to run better than a 12.70 1/4 mile...no excuse for a car with 540 hp. That sucker should be in the 11s.

Yeah, the new Camaro looks good, and no, probably nobody other than a hard-core performance enthusiast (like myself) is going to care about their weight, but a power/weight ratio is everything when it comes to performance.

I would personally like to congratulate GM on building a heavier and slower Pontiac GTO, despite people complaining the GTO was "a little bit heavy."

I love Camaros more than almost any car in the world, but this one will not find its way into my driveway. I'll be seeing it in the rearview with this...

My boss brought this in to the body shop to show the students on the last day of class courtesy of Bazil Chevrolet of Wellsville. It's the V6 and wasn't loud enough but very hott car.

Yeah, "because they have several" or "because they have so few?"
