Nice find there RustyRedneck. I have a 446 and those are great tractors. You're getting good advice so far. I'm confident you'll solve the problem and have fun with the tractor. If the blade goes up and down well the pump may be okay. I find since it's a hydraulic drive I keep the rpms up and use the control lever to control your speed.

Does it have more power in reverse? Either your drive motor is worn out or the hydraulic pump is worn out. I'd also check the lovejoy coupler at the hydraulic pump. See if the pump shaft is spinning in the lovejoy due to loose set screws

It has less power in reverse but I think that's just because the directional control doesn't move as far in the reverse direction.
