Reminds me of the story about the two guys trying to get the mule out of the barn!!"The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the collision. And it's too early to speculate on exactly what caused the wreck until that probe is done, said Sam Sacco, a spokesman for ship owner and operator Foss Marine."
Gee, I wonder what the results of the investigation will be ?
Maybe the bridge was to low ??? :dunno:
Nah, make 'em walk the plank or keelhaul 'em.Somebody needs to hang for this debacle.
According to a thread on another forum ( made by a guy local to the bridge ), there would have been 10' clearance IF the ship wouild have gone thru the center. The worst part, they tried a lower side, i don't think it would have made the center where it was higher:dunno:
Ronnie
I have been across that bridge a couple times over the years. Seeing the rusty "beams" as you crawl across it with several other cars, bumper to bumper REALLY wigs me out. I actually had to drive over that bridge several times the same day the 35W came down. talk about nerves!!!!There is a suburb of St.Paul called Stillwater. It is next to the St.Croix river and has an old 1931 built lift bridge ....
