Here is the 5022 I got today. It was made in 1973 with D432 engine.

Per the lawnboy website, the Serial number range should be : 300000001 - 399999999. But mine is 63XXXXX. Is there something wrong?

PO's dad bought it in 1973 (I got the user manual with the original receipt and maintain records)and it was not used in the past several years. But it start at the first pull with the old gas and I mowed my yard this afternoon with it. It runs perfectly.

Here are pics:

I wouldn't be too concerned about the serial number, Lawn Boy site is seldom right about those..
Nice mower, light, simple, no fiberglass shroud to wear out, no chrome to peel off the handle.
Stick some bushings/bearings in the wheels. It will give you years and years of service.

So, you got it. I e-mailed the guy, but got no response, and then it was off Craigs. Congrats, glad to see someone on here got it. I have a 5022 already, great mower, light weight, and starts easily. :thThumbsU
