I don't know what I bought. Ford 5500??

So I have been searching through many threads here but I am not finding what I need. To be fair, I also didn't carefully read the auction disclaimer either. They are not, it turns out, responsible for inaccurate descriptions. My 1995 gas-powered loader is a very old 3-cylinder diesel. Also, you can't pull a 15,000-pound tractor with a 1500 Chevy. So as you can see, I have already learned a lot. I would like to know what I actually bought and what engine is in it so that I can learn how to work on diesels. Believe it or not, I am actually pretty clever and very excited to get started on this project.
What I know so far:
It turns over. I hooked up a battery and it rolled over.
The right side of the engine has DONN 6015 L cast on it
2B below that
Stamped at the bottom, D471402
5500 on both sides of the front (a backhoe?)

looks more like the numbers are telling the truth, 1973 the fact that it's 3 banger making it a 4500
I just want to know for sure before I buy any parts. Will all the engine details be the same for the 3 cylinder diesels?
Yes and no. The 3 cylinder diesel engines from 1965 through at least 1984 were all made basically the same, but they had some differences across the series, and even across models within the same series, and there were also some slight changes made over the years. They also made them with varying bores and strokes for various displacements for the various models within the various series. They changed the block design from a canister style oil filter to a spin-on style oil filter fairly early-on (11/1/1969), and they changed the block casting design in 1970 which allows you to use the later style tach drive that is driven by the oil pump drive instead of the generator, but they continued to use the generator tach drive until the end of the thousand series run in 1975, and they switched to the oil pump tach drive with the x600 series in 1975. They also used a couple of different kinds of diesel injection pumps on different models as well.

The fact that the engine serial number starts with a D means that it is almost certainly a 201 ci engine with a CAV rotary injection pump. All 4000 series diesel engines were 201 ci displacement and they all used the CAV rotary pump. Since the casting was designed in 1970, that also means that it uses the spin-on oil filter. What parts do you need to buy?

I'm not sure what all I'll need to buy. But I'll also want to look up specs like compression, valve lash, and I have no idea what else. I just feel like it'll be important to know what I've got.

D5011K is a 4500 with diesel engine, no PTO and a 6x4 manual reversing transmission, with 3 forward and 2 reverse gears on the taller main shifter and high/low ranges on the second shorter shifter for a total of 6 forward and 4 reverse gears. The range shifter needs to be in its neutral position, halfway between the hi and low positions in order for the neutral safety switch to allow the engine to start.

again, these numbers don't lie, the decals do
either way it's a machine that likes to work while sipping fuel

As I said, it looks to be a 1972 4500. Just because it has "5500" on the nose does not mean that's what it is. Any previous owner could have added that at any point in the past.

Please look for the other numbers in the other locations that I mentioned earlier.
I'm not sure what your last post with just that quote of one of my earlier posts is for. I told you a couple of posts back for sure that it is a 4500 from the D5011K model number.
