Is it the Shriners that ride in the little cars?

So this coming Tuesday is the day the 3320 is scheduled to depart my garage and I'm already missing the beast, but monetarily for the situation I am in right now, it's the right thing to do...

I need something to mow the grass so I began looking at the usual suspects, Cub Cadet, MT-Deere's, Huskie's and Craftsman. I have to say at the end of the day I was most impressed with the new 09 Craftsman GTS-5000 Excelerator and that's what I went with. The new "Lil Beast" will be delivered this coming Friday, ready to go (and not a moment too soon because my grass REALLY needs cut!)

A far cry from a CUT, that's for sure! I will post up some real photos (not that anyone of us would be too impressed) when the new one is at home.

Brett its not about the unit you drive. I burn around on my LT133 often.. Heck it just drags me around its funny to see. i use it for mowing and going visiting the neibours. I cant wait to see a pic of your new rig.. Heck i like looking at all rigs. Its about spending time in the saddle....

TG,

I always thought Size mattered :)

I'm going to miss the 3320 I know that I will. But like I said, for now with my current circumstances she has to go. I did a lot of research on Yard and Garden tractors before purchasing the Craftsman and I really was going to buy a JD 425 I found a nice one locally for $2500 but it's got 1300+ hours on it and I keep thinking "with my luck" lately, I don't want to risk it.

The Craftsman GTS 5000 is impressive for what it is, and in this price point I didn't find anything else (aside from the Husky, which is the same machine) that fit the bill. It's going to be nice to not give up much deck width (going from a 60 down to a 54 isn't too bad).

I will post up some good photos Friday!

You can't feel like a Shriner...unless your knees are UP with your ELBOWS...:D

JDF,

Thanks! I am getting there! When the Deere is gone, that's one payment gone (a small payment, but still a payment) but what really helps is taking the rest of the money from the sell of the Deere and paying my car off! Between the car payment and the tractor payment, that is going to help me tremendously!

Hey, great looking tractor! Good luck with everything. I am sure your financial situation will work out just fine. You seem to be making all the right moves to head in the right direction.

Best wishes:wwp:

Thanks Penna,

Yeah I'm "getting there" it takes time but I will survive. And who knows, down the road maybe the next big one will be a cab machine :)

Hi Brett

That looks like a great mowing machine. The seat looks real comfy with the arms and all. I'm sure you will enjoy it and no doubt it is the best value in it's class.

Take Care
Brian

Brian,

If my arms touched the arm rests that would be great! I must be a freak, because every yard/garden tractor I saw on that had arm rests, don't work for me! LOL Maybe 6'2" has something to do with it...

It does seem to be the best in it's price range. I think it needs some graphics or something to break the black up, maybe some yellow lighting bolts??? :)

Hopefully things will improve soon and you know that you're doing the right thing. Funny,, I have a JD790 with a 60"MMM and a 1975 Case 222 with a 44" MMM. I prefer to mow with the 222 as it is so easy to get around the trees and stuff.

Best Wishes

Well,

The 3320 is gone.... Dean Burke is now the new owner and I wish him many trouble free hours with her... A bittersweet day for sure.

Another congrats on the new purchase Brett, I had a Craftsman back some years ago. There is no shame in owning one as they are well built and were designed to fit a market that they succeed quite well at. Enjoy your new ride and as you said maybe the next one will be a cab machine..

New owner loading her on the trailer. I will miss that fine piece of green engineering!
