Hydraulic Pump Removal 9N

7155 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Kirk-NJ
I am trying to remove the Hydraulic Pump on my 9n, the bottom panel which holds the pump is unbolted, pto shaft is out and the lift cover and control arm removed. I can jiggle the assembly about but it wont let go of the tractor. I have tried to move it toward the rear of the tractor with no luck.

What gives?

Do I need to set up a block and prybar to pry the pump rearward?

Is there something more that I need to disassemble?

Thanks

You do not need a pry bar, it is just a matter of hitting the right combination of wiggle and jiggle to get it out. One end of it (front I think, my brain hasn't started working yet this morning) needs to drop down before the other so it will clear.

:ditto::ditto::ditto: You also have to twist your mouth and tongue the right direction!!

Ken, I thought it was bite your tongue so you would not say all those choice words you were thinking out loud. :trink40:
I've always had good luck by sticking my hand or foot underneath and then they will usually just fall out on thier own. :crybaby::crybaby:
some people glue them with the gasket. You might have to run a putty knife around it to make sure it's clear.
