Did it ever work while you had it, or is it possible it wasn't working for the previous owner?
Filling 1100's with oil is a slow process. It should have a small reservoir/expansion chamber. Fill that and check in a couple of hours. If it's gone down add more and check again in a couple of hours.
When oil level is stable; check charge pressure. There's a hydraulic connection near the input (centered on the bottom if vertical) that is the charge suction. There's another smaller hydraulic connection just off of center, near the input shaft that is the charge pressure source. That normally goes to accessories such as the deck lift. It must return to the other connection on the transmission. If there is no deck lift or valves, it still needs to return to the transmission. There is a connection on the cast iron part in the middle of the transmission where the charge oil must return to. You can put a filter in this line. Any valves in this line must be open center. If you are not sure, bypass valves.
