Hyd. diverter valve install B2620 w/pics

Thought I would share some pics of the hyd. diverter valve I installed on my B2620 to operate the grapple I built.

I started by pulling the tractor into the shop and setting the parking break/chocking the wheels, I then jacked up the right side and removed the right rear tire and fender assembly to access the loader valve.

The diverter valve is tied into the bucket curl circuit at the loader valve by replacing banjo fittings and factory hard lines with a 90* SAE 8-JIC 6 fittings(the threads in the loader valve are SAE8).

I then used tubing nuts w/sleeves and 3/8" steel line double flared and bent to fit (available at any parts store) to go from the loader valve to the diverter valve which I mounted to the loader sub-frame below the floor pan. I tried to pick the most protected path I could for the hard lines.

I then ran 3/8" hard lines from the diverter valve to JIC6 to 1/4" NPTM bulkhead fittings that go through the stock bracket to mount the original loader quick connects (the o-ring in the picture is just to take up the difference in the diameter between the stock and aftermarket bulkhead fittings).

The valve is mounted to a peice of 1/4" plate which not only mounts it but also provides some protection for the lower fittings. For the aux. lines I used 2 3/8" 12" 2 wire flexible line with quick connects to allow easier removal of the loader. The loader side I used 3/8" 1 wire rubber line (7ft total) with a 2 line hyd. hose clamp to hold the QC on the end with eh rest of the hose zip-tied to the factory loader hoses.

More pics, the diverter valve is from surplus center PN:9-7852 and is fairly compact. I chose to mount it where I did because is reduced the amount of long lines I'd have to run, is out of the way and still fairly protected. I don't have a MMM or backhoe and am not sure how it would fit with either ( I know it would have to be moved for the hoe as its mounted to some it the subfames holes).

The bracket and lines were painted with Rustoleum dark charcoal which is almost a dead match for the gray on the newer Kubotas.

The mounting for the valve could be moved almost anywhere is needed and the hard lines substituted for rubber. Just wanted to pass along my experience and maybe give some people ideas. I have about $250 and mabe a days worth of work. The electrics were a simple knob with a button (I made my own but there are premade ones out there) and a relay wired into the aux. keyed electric hookup under the fender (same one I used for my aux. lights).

I'll try to get some more pics of the completed setup now that I've had a chance to use it. Its very quick when switching between circuits and worked very well so far, just wanted to test it out before posting this up just in case!

A few pics of the bulkhead fittings and where the lines run from the diverter to the factory loader QC (its tight in this area as the brake pedals share this real estate!). Also threw in a pic. of the lines where they terminate at the end of the loader.

Next up I want to add 2 sets of remotes off the back for a hyd top link and maybe hyd guage wheels for the rake :thThumbsU

Nice job!, well thought out and implemented.:trink40:
Doesn't get more "professional" than that. Outstanding workmanship!
:thThumbsU Great Mod.
Looks good and is a very clean install, good work.

Now you need to give us some more pics of the entire pkg, grapple and all :D

Very slick. Nice documentation. With a little refinement, you could start offering a 3rd function diverter kit for the Bx20 series Kubotas.

Now thats a serious looking machine. Looks like it should be in a Godzilla movie or something :D
You bring that beast down to Knoxville and I have some fence rows you can play in :D

Wow! Can't believe you could lift that huge log on one side of the bucket without over-torqueing it. Nice work! :thThumbsU
That looks good, you did a nice job. That is a serious chunk of wood you have in that thing. :thThumbsU
Thanks, thats actually 2 logs in there! Prob. about 200lbs. I'd guess. I'm hoping to make a video as soon as I finish a few touches and paint it.
