Recently bought a Husqvarna 350 chainsaw for pretty cheap. It has a small oil leak that I’ve diagnosed to a small valve in the oil tank housing. The first pic is with a full tank of oil sitting for 3 days. I cleaned up the saw but you can see how much oil has leaked out the bottom. It makes a pretty good mess.
The second pic shows a close up of the valve. I can’t find any info on this valve. If it’s meant to relieve pressure inside the tank is it normal for it to leak? I can understand a full tank of oil and the temperature fluctuations we’ve been having that pressure has to go somewhere. Or has the valve failed and it’s letting oil leak?
The only way to get it out that I can think of is to thread a screw into it and pull it out. There’s no way to access it from inside the tank on the other side.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
