Scored this beauty off of facebook last night. The idea here is this guy'll take over prime mowing duty from my Deere STX 38 which will be likely traded off to a neighbor for his TL125!

I do have the deck covers and the blower tube as well as the missing tail lights for it. Guy I bought it from upgraded, parked this one for the last couple of months, and decided to sell it rather than fix. It has a couple of issues- the outside spindle is shot so the deck keeps eating belts and so does the blower. Battery's tired, bags have been patched, needs a carb clean because it doesn't idle well. Biggest issue is it seems to slip in and out of gear, and its a hydro, so.... Hoping its just low on fluid with no permanent damage. Price was WAY good, and I have a spare trans I think.

According to the tags, its an '86 which makes the engine the Onan B43 16 horse. The guy seemed pretty convinced it was an 18 horse though, so I'll have to do some checking.

Think its got a 46" deck under it, but I'll have to throw a tape on it because I can't find anything with the deck serial number...

LOVES me the sound of an ONAN!

That's a great score and it looks like a 46" deck. The 16 hp Onan has a nice sound.
:ditto:

46" deck and it would have the B43E (16 hp) vs the B43G (18 hp) that was in the 318, in 1987 both tractors got the P218G (18 hp)

Worked the beast a little today. Definitley need to go through the carb, motor surges pretty good when its trying to idle. Fun tractor though!

Congrats on your 316.:fing32:

Sure you aren't really overtaxing it's capabilities by hauling a trailer that large?:sidelaugh

I too recently picked up an '86 316 from a fellow member. Runs great. Had a similar issue with lower rpm surging. Added a half bottle seafoam to a quarter (+or-) tank of fuel. Seems to have helped.
I'm batting around the idea of purchasing an H2 kit from auxhyd.com, then possibly buying a Buford Bucket.

Yup, good eye! My Dad bought in in about '84, I'm babysitting it for them while they are out of the country for a few more months.
