If you get it, I'd be interested to see how you compare it to the Deere 400.

I would think they r pretty close??
Good luck the price is good. What is a bad VR?
Voltage regulator
Regulator are not bad to do, they range from $100 to $200, but never done one with an HT. You can still drive it for now. I would buy that all day long, attachemnts are worth it alone, and would like to see some pictures!
Well, sorry fellas, I decided to pass! I looked at it, it was worth it, just not to me. It didn't run , nor has it ever ran since this guy has owned it. It was in decent shape, motor looked decent, had deck, blower and tiller. He said motor was free, needs a selonoid, and regulator. And the rest of the problems, were electrical he said, I am assuming that's why it didn't run I guess. Problem is, I have enough projects , that I no what fixes they need, and they r my brand! Maybe next time!!

I am surprised that Wilbur hasn't swooped in and bought it . . . . then again, maybe he has.

By they way, I was wrong on the model, om not sure what it was, I don't think it was an ht, because it had a Wisconsin motor in it. Like I said I don't no much about the bolens,mi have around 18-20 CC, and a JD and a few others.
Had a starter generator on the right hand side of tractor(sitting in driver seat), battery tray was at the very front of tractor, looks like battery slid in from same side as starter was on. I'm curious as to what model this is, it was deffinetally as big as my JD, or a bit bigger!
The seat was in nice shape , brown leather seat, with like vents in the seat back, seat said bolens across the seat
Sounds like a 1455, 1476, or 1477. What color was it? If it was electrical with a 14 Wisconsin, then it could have been the igniton module that is not cheap at all. Do you have any pictures at all? If it was bigger than a 400, then it must have been a 1476, 1477, or 1455 because those were the only ones with the brown seats, other than the 1886, but those did not have starter generators and had Kohler motors.

1476 sounds like a 1970 year.
