Good deal Frank, why have one project going, when you can have many going at once.

Just don't be like me, get some finished !! :D:D

I'm looking forward to meeting you at PA plow day. :fing32:

It going in your Ht20 instead of the Spare wd2-860. What are you bringing to plow with?

Not sure yet Frank. My sons 1253 for sure, maybe my HT-23.

I'll bring my 20D to show off, but won't plow with that. I've got plenty of trailer space, if I can afford the fuel required to pull it in April. :banghead3

I test fired it today. Ran great! I just ordered a new oil pan, pickup tube, and the driveshaft stuff. The oil pan that came with the engine was too big and would interfere with the mid PTO shaft if i decide to run the mower.

Congrats on your acquisitions , looking forward to seeing the final product .

Mike
Today i swapped the oil pan, crank pulley and added a cooling fan to the water pump. I then cut the cross shaft for the hydro pedal and mounted a bushing on the end of it so i had room for the driveshaft. I then made the engine mounts and attached the engine to the frame. I then made a new 2 piece driveshaft.
I plan on mounting the radiator up front on this one. Probably get a smaller fuel tank and relocate the battery so it has good airflow. Tomorrow i might Do the exhaust, mount the fuel filter and start some wiring.

back at it.
Whats new?
-front pto. just need shorter belts and a bracket to support the front bearing i added
-Radiator mounted and fan shroud made
-fuel tank and battery are lowered and just need hold downs

What still needs to be done.
- fuel lines
- wiring
-air cleaner
-Throttle and fuel shut off cables
- prep and paint once i use it a while to make sure there is no issues

Hope i have enough air flow though the radiator or i may need to go with a smaller tank

Have you given any thought to using a thermostatic electric fan for cooling the rad? Very small but powerful.

i didnt have the space since most of them are over 2 inches at the motor. the factory water pump mounted fan gave me the most room
Do you have room in front of the radiator? Or can it be moved back if the water pump fan is removed? The electric fans are available as pushers and may be easier to mount if needed.
Now that the engine is cooled, (gauge?), allot more task is being asked of the hydro stat, any thoughts on adding a cooler to the stat that is piped in front of the rad?

Just had my stat oil cooler finished by the hydro shop, now looking to place it in front of some moving air.

There is some more heat to get rid of, with the increase in performance.

That is some sick upgrading you are doing. Love it!

Wow I missed this post. I really like what you are doing. A large frame with that diesel will be one heck of a machine.

i think its only a 12.5 hp engine. hydro will not be worked any harder

Ahhh, it really set a seed in my head to question going with a Honda GX 22 hp, vs a Kubota diesel rebuild for the QT 16. As the Kubota's always outlast everything they are stuck in, if I could get to 20 horse and a boat load of torque I may think about going there.

Not to take away anything from this, hard core fabricating, tip of the hat.

Got another thread on a D722e going in a 1250, lengthened frame, power steering auxillary hydraulics, independent rear pto and 3 point

Heres where im at as of last weekend. I had it running again with the bigger radiator and couldnt resist turning up the fuel a little. Still need to do the wiring, air cleaner, hydro control rod, 3 point hitch and some other little things but i was able to drive it around again. Ill probably use it for a few months to make sure everything works properly then tear it down for paint
