I just got the parts to put my 430 rear pto back together, but I want to do it so that the splines on the clutch shaft wont wear out again. How do I prevent that? unfortunately my "new" clutch shaft doesnt have the grease zerk, but I do have the spring and the o-ring to put in the void of the male/female connection at the back side of the hydro pump. It looks to me like the previous/damaged shaft was not all the way engaged at the connection point right behind the hydro pump, causing the splines to wear out on the clutch shaft and the shaft coming out the rear of the hydro pump. Can I put some washers in for spacers back where the 4 bolts hold the pulley mechanism on? I mean, can I use washers to in a sense make the whole unit longer so that the male/female splined connection at the rear side of the hydro pump is completely overlapping?
