Just courious; how do you tell the year of the tractor from the tag?

The only way that I know of is to call a dealer with the serial number. They will be able and should be willing to tell you.

made a mistake yhe name is HOT LINE not holt line
It is a book i purchased from hot line through an ebay auction in end of 2007.
Item offered was a 2007 edition and i rec'd the new 2008 version for $10.00.

You might also check www.tractordata.com. Sometimes they will list a range of serial numbers and year manufactured for a given model.
